Tom Neave to withdraw from The British Superbike Championship to recover from ongoing injuries.

It is with sadness that, due to injuries sustained earlier in the season, we have to announce that Tom is unfortunately taking longer than expected to recover fully.

In discussion with the Team and taking medical advice, Tom has decided to sit out the remainder of the year to enable a full recovery.

Tom’s decision has the full support of GR Motosport and STAUFF UK Ltd the team sponsor of the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki Team.

Brent Gladwin Team Owner: Tom did not have the start to the season we were all looking forward to. Even with superb medical help, Tom’s recovery time is taking longer than expected.

Tom and I discussed the situation at Thruxton and I fully support his decision. Tom will remain a part of the team in a different role. We are now looking at a suitable replacement rider for the remainder of the season.

Tom Neave: First and foremost, I would like to thank the whole team and sponsors for their support with this decision. We have not had the results we were expecting due to missed rounds and ongoing injuries. It is the right decision for me to take this time to recover properly.

Iain Stansbie MarCom Business Development Director of STAUFF UK :

It is never good to hear a decision like this having to be made, especially for Tom who is obviously passionate about competing in this prestigious championship.

We have enjoyed getting to know Tom in his role as a STAUFF Sporting Ambassador and even more so on a personal level … and it is this personal level which gives us the empathy that the health and safety of our rider is the most important part of this decision.

We are looking forward to Tom’s continued contributions to the team for the remainder of the season and his speedy recovery. We will continue to support the team in their efforts to secure a replacement rider.
