GR MOTOSPORT first TEST of 2024
Monday the 25th of March was our first day back at School at Donington Park.
The No-Limits track day was our first opportunity for the Team to come together with Storm and Tom to try the 2024 version of our Kawasaki ZX10RR Superbike for the first time.
Storm now has four years’ experience with the LKQ Euro Car Parts ZX10 Ninja but after a lot of work over the winter buy the Team we were able still to put a little smile on his face.
As for Tom Neave it was really his first go on the Stauff Fluid Power Kawasaki Superbike and not really a very nice day to do it on, Wet Cold and Windy.
Our biggest challenge for the day apart from cancelled flights for Tom’s Crew Chief and the weather was the 98 decibels noise limit which proved to be extremely difficult with our super handmade WSB spec Arrow exhausts. We were loaned a Cobra exhaust road cans which combined with a slight closed throttle got us out there.
Storm Stacey commented “It was a good day, we didn’t get loads of laps done but enough to see the improvements and get a direction and importantly a name for the new bike ‘Katrina’. It was good to see Tom out there too he looked really comfortable and now we are looking forward to being back here in a couple of weeks.
Tom Neave said “Wow what a first ride on the new bike with the new team. Even with the weather and the other couple of issues the bike really did feel great in these conditions, going down craner it felt as smooth as silk. Danny and the Guys have done a mega job getting us here and now like Storm I am looking forward to the official test in a couple of weeks
Danny Wright Team Manager “There has been some challenges today but as Brent said after all the very hard work over the winter to get here, seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces is worth it. I am pleased with the feedback from both riders and crew – We still have challenges ahead but we have a good base for now, Thanks to everyone for all the effort up to now!
