GR MOTOSPORT travel to ITALY for WORLDWCR Round 2

Chloe Jones enjoyed some Television fun with TNT Sports Greg Haines discussing life on the road with WorldWCR and Battles through setback to secure strong finishes in Cremona – Now 8th Overall in WorldWCR.

The Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship moved to central Italy for the 2nd round of the series held at the tight but exciting Cremona Circuit.

Sheffield Based – GR Motosport and British rider Chloe Jones delivered a weekend of resilience and reward at Round 2 of the WorldWCR despite being handed a penalty in Race 1 that pushed her down the order, Jones came back stronger in Race 2 with a determined ride to 8th place — securing valuable championship points and climbing to 8th overall in the standings.

WorldWCR Round 2 – Day 1

We had attended the official 2025 WorldWCR Press launch and test day at the circuit gaining some track time but not quite enough to match the pace set by the more experienced riders. In Practice and Qualifying Chloe made great progress taking another strong 7th on the grid for Race 1

Cremona Race 1

Chloe starting 7th on the grid which does push you to the outside of the track at the start got badly boxed in at the first turn dropping her down the order and giving here work to do. Settling in Chloe fought her way back into the top ten and a great race for 8th place over the next 10 laps.

A last lap last corner push resulted in a post-race penalty dropping Chloe to a disappointing 11th It was a tough moment for the team, but Chloe remained focused on bouncing back for race two.

Cremona Race 2

True to form after a Team debrief, Chloe returned to the Cremona grid for Race 2 with renewed energy. She made a very good start and fought hard from the outset, making decisive moves through the field and maintaining her composure under pressure to finish a very strong 8th in the incredibly hot conditions.

Now 8th overall in the standings, Chloe and the Team continues to impress in the fiercely competitive WorldWCR championship, with more to come as the season progresses towards our home round at Donington Park in July.

Chloe Jones reflects on her Weekend: – “Not the weekend I had planned with a race one penalty and then a poor start in race 2 and getting boxed into turn one, eventually finishing P8. My lap times are there or there abouts but I just need to sort my first couple of laps out and not start on the 4th row ☹

These weekends happen but I’ve got to come back stronger in 9 weeks’ time at my home race. I am looking forward to Donington so and I can’t wait to see all the home fans 🇬🇧 We have a few days testing planned to make sure I am at my best and the Team are hosting American rider Sonya Lloyd on one of the days to help her learn the track too.

Thankyou to all my sponsors and supporters because none of this would be possible without you all.

Finally to @grmotosport  Brent, Clare, Danny DK and Gary for the endless amount of work they’ve all done this weekend  in the scorching heat! 🔥

Brent Gladwin Owner at GR Motosport said. “Cremona although a great little track was a tough one for us, the potential is incredible and we just need to pull it all together with a little luck pulled into the mix too. The first race penalty was hard on us but Racing incidents happen its racing and we all learn from them. Overall we had a good weekend but the front Women are on their ‘A’ game and we need to get closer to them so we have a plan in place for more testing at Donington, Ballaton and Magny Cours with a focus on our home round next at Donington Park in July where we hope to be at our very best.
