Rouse ready to defend Superstock title in 2021 with move to GR Motosport
Chrissy Rouse will defend his Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship title in 2021, signing with the GR Motosport team to line up on the all-new Kawasaki ZX-10RR.
Rouse sealed this year’s title crown with two victories and a further five podiums to secure the championship victory at the Brands Hatch season finale, and now he is determined to retain the number one plate in 2021.
Rouse said: “I am really excited about the challenge ahead. I was hoping to step up to the Superbike class in 2021, but as that was not an option this year, what better than to challenge for the title again and try to retain the number one plate on the brand new ZX-10RR.
“I am really pleased to be joining GR Motorsport and also very grateful for the opportunity, I’m really looking forward to getting out on the bike testing in the new year ready for round one at Oulton Park. The Superstock class looks set for probably the most competitive line up to date with most of the front-running lads staying and with the addition of a few others – I’m going to really have to be on my A-game to retain the title!”
Team owner Brent Gladwin commented: – what a Christmas treat for everyone in signing Chrissy to defend his Superstock 1000 title on the all-new Stauff Fluid Power Kawasaki ZX-10RR. Chrissy did a great job in 2020 and we aim to continue that success in 21 and then have him join Storm on the Superbike in 2022.
Christmas this year is going to be a strange one and difficult for many of us, please remember to stay save and where at all safely possible help others. We really missed you all at the BSB events this year so let’s try very hard to get on top of this for the start of the 2021 British Superbike season
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for everyone here at GR Motosport
